Thomas Daly, Bishop of Spokane, was born April 30, 1960, in San Francisco. He earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of San Francisco in 1982; a master of divinity from St. Patrick Seminary in Menlo Park, California, in 1987; and a master of education degree from Boston College in 1996. He was ordained a priest for the Archdiocese of San Francisco in 1987.
Pope Benedict XVI named him auxiliary bishop of the Diocese of San Jose on March 16, 2011. He was ordained a bishop May 25, 2011.
Pope Francis named him the seventh Bishop of Spokane on March 12, 2015. Bishop Daly was installed on May 20, 2015 at the Cathedral of Our Lady of Lourdes in Spokane.

Father Darrin Connall

Father Darrin Connall, Vicar General, was ordained May 29, 1992, at the Cathedral of Our Lady of Lourdes in Spokane by Bishop William Skylstad. He is a native of Spokane, having attended Trinity Catholic School, Central Valley High School, and Bishop White Seminary at Gonzaga University. He completed his formal studies for priesthood at the Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C.
Fr. Connall’s first assignment was as parochial vicar at St. Thomas More Parish in north Spokane. After serving there for two years, he served as pastor of the parishes in Colville, Northport and Kettle Falls. During Fr. Connall’s time in Stevens County, he served as co-director of vocations. In 2000, he was assigned as rector of Bishop White Seminary, Director of Vocations, and Director of Seminarians. During his assignment at Bishop White Seminary, Fr. Connall oversaw the construction of a new seminary building that included administrative offices, a chapel, and a residence.
In July of 2011, Fr. Connall was appointed rector of the Cathedral of Our Lady of Lourdes, where he continues to serve today. During his tenure, he was diagnosed with cancer, and through his illness he remained dedicated to his parish. In 2013, he began oversight for renovation of the cathedral as it enters its second century, revitalizing the church building and ensuring its vitality for the future.
In 2015, Fr. Connall was appointed vicar general of the diocese and serves as the bishop’s assistant in the executive governance of the diocese. He continues to serve as both rector of the Cathedral and vicar general of the diocese.

Father Brian Mee

Father Brian Mee, Vicar for Finance, is a native of Spokane having grown up with his four siblings in Spokane’s Perry District. The Mee family was active in Sacred Heart Parish, where the children attended Sacred Heart School, which has since consolidated with St. Augustine to become Cataldo Catholic School.
After grade school, Fr. Mee left home to attend Mater Cleri Seminary in Colbert. Upon graduation from Mater Cleri, he continued his studies at Gonzaga University while living at Bishop White Seminary. He graduated from Gonzaga in 1974 having earned a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy. Fr. Mee was sent to Rome for his theological studies. He studied at the Pontifical University of St. Thomas Aquinas (where he earned an STB – Bachelor in Sacred Theology) and then Pontifical Gregorian University. Later Fr. Mee would return to Rome and receive both a Licentiate in Theology and a Doctorate of Sacred Theology from the College of Sant’Anselmo.
Father Mee was ordained in 1978 at Sacred Heart Church. In his priestly ministry, he has been a teacher at DeSales High School in Walla Walla, the spiritual director at Bishop White Seminary, and has served with the Spokane Diocese mission in Guatemala for six years. Most recently, he has served for eight years as pastor at St. Peter Parish in Spokane. He also spent twenty years as a member of the Benedictine monastic community at Mount Angel Abbey in Oregon, where he was a professor of Sacramental Theology.
Fr. Mee is currently the pastor of St. Augustine Parish, Spokane and Vicar for Finance for the Catholic Diocese of Spokane. On a personal note, Fr. Mee enjoys biking, birdwatching, and golf.

Father Patrick Kerst

Father Patrick Kerst, Vicar for Priests, was ordained to the priesthood on May 23, 1990. Since that time, he has served the Diocese of Spokane in many capacities. He has been parochial vicar of St. Patrick Parish, Pasco; parochial vicar of St. Patrick and St. Francis of Assisi parishes in Walla Walla; pastor of the parishes in Brewster and Twisp; pastor of parishes in Walla Walla; pastor of St. Joseph in Rockford and St. Mary in Spokane Valley; and director of continuing education for priests for the Diocese of Spokane. In 2014, he served as vicar general for external matters. He currently serves as pastor of St. Thomas More Parish in north Spokane.
