Ash Wednesday, Lent and Valentine's Day

Episode 203 · February 9th, 2018 · 27 mins 2 secs

About this Episode

Its a contest of Hallmark vs the Church this Ash Wednesday, as Valentine's Day falls on Ash Wednesday. As the Bishop and the Vicars note Ash Wednesday is in many ways a celebration of love and forgiveness. We can turn towards one another and offer both contrition and forgiveness in this Lenten season. While we must abstain from meat and fast this February 14th; Ash Wednesday and the love we celebrate on Valentines are not opposed. Ash Wednesday and Lent invites us to go deeper into the meaning of love; to the eternal Love of God, and to the Ressurection of Christ at Easter.

Join Bishop Thomas Daly, Fr. Darrin Connall (Vicar General), Fr. Brian Mee (Vicar for Finance), and Fr. Pat Kerst (Vicar for Priests) as they talk about faith, life, and challenging issues of the day; always keeping in mind the joy our faith inspires.
